A CenterXY shopping center site is a geographically delineated primarily retail-oriented area with multiple leasable units.
Shopping center boundaries are extended to include all possible business locations found at the site and often run along property boundaries, roads, or edges of parking lots. Shadow anchors and outparcels are generally included in the boundaries of a center.
The shopping center site attributes (parking stalls, year opened, center name) come direclty from leasing documents that are reviewed and verified by our data validation team.
All sites are initially identified using a proprietary clustering algorithm utilizing ChainXY retail location data. These clusters of locations are then evaluated to determine whether they qualify as a shopping center.
